Since we had to go through Philly on our way from the beach back to my brother's house in Carlisle, we decided to stop and see the sights. There are some pretty cool things there, but I'd never want to live there...WAY too many people!!!
I thought this was pretty funny since it was 89 degrees with a nice breeze. It was 104 in College Station!
Steve and I tried Benjamin Franklin's beer recipe (left) and Thomas Jefferson's recipe (right) and the City Tavern. That was a cool place. George Washington had a private dining room upstairs and the bartender told us that the first July 4th celebration occurred in that tavern. By the way, Steve and I both thought Jefferson's was better!
We had to get an authentic Philly Cheesesteak.
We got our cheesesteaks from Geno's, which some believe is the best.
Geno's rival (and right across the street) is Pat's.
