Surfside Beach, TX ~ June 18 & 19, 2011

We had a wonderful opportunity to go down to Surfside Beach for a day with our boys.  We have all missed the beach and were ready to get back on one!  We even took our dog, Max, this year...his first time on a beach!

Max's first steps on a beach and in the ocean.

Then he got used to it a little bit!  I think he figured out that it cooled him off on a hot day!

Mommy and her boys.

Ryan coming in on his boogie board.

Brock and Ryan found the "X" that marks the spot!  (Of what?  We don't know!!)

Digging for clams.

Brotherly Love.....

Max resting after playing in the ocean.

Brock and Mommy.

Ryan on Daddy's shoulders (so he wouldn't get knocked over by the waves).

My Sunshine!

The second day we were there we put up this canopy tent we borrowed from a friend.  It was a great place for all of us to go to get out of the sun.  Max liked it, too!

After the boys had been digging for and collecting clams for a while, I showed them how the clams dig back into the sand.  They thought that was even cooler than catching them!  So, we would catch them, then lay them back on the sand and watch them dig in.

Carrying on the O'Neal tradition:  We go to a beach, we build a sand castle!

It is complete with a bridge and moat.

Daddy and his boys with their creation.
