March 2008

Some good pictures of the boys this month....

Brock has been taking gymnastics classes since he was about 2 1/2-years old. One of his favorite things to do is the rings. We have rings on our swingset and he loves to hold them and try to pull his feet up all by himself. He hasn't been able to do it until a few days ago. He was so excited and proud of himself!!
So, here's a video of his Big Strong Muscles!

Easter 2008

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Ryan is now old enough to really participate and Brock had a good time, too. We dyed eggs, which was quite an experience with a 4- and a 2-year old. Brock did pretty good with it, but Ryan didn't understand why you couldn't just slam the eggs on the table over and over again!!! We ended up with about 4 or 5 broken/cracked eggs and the rest we were able to dye!
Hunting for eggs was great, too. Brock kept finding all the eggs, so we would have to make him put some of them back so Ryan could find some. He did o.k. with that, but then he just started to find them and bring them to Ryan. We had to explain that Ryan actually liked looking for the eggs! He's a great big brother and we knew he was just trying to help Ryan.
The Easter Egg hunt itself takes quite a while at our house. With every egg they found, they had to open it and eat the candy before they would hunt for another egg! This didn't work so well when Ryan would find one of the real eggs...and try to "open" it. He would squeeze it, break it, realize there was no candy inside and then throw it back on the ground!!!
Here's Brock checking for candy before he moves on to hunting for some more eggs....

...and here's Ryan eating the candy straight from the egg! My boys don't mess around!!!

Ryan's BIG Boo-Boo

Ryan had his first major accident this week. He was running with his step-stool and tripped on the carpet and hit his eye. I thought I might have to take him to the ER to get stitches, but it stopped bleeding and he seemed to get through it o.k. He was a pretty tough little guy when he got his first shiner!!

It looked much worse the next day!

Mar. 7, 2008 ~ Snow in College Station?!?!?

Yes, it actually snowed in College Station!!! It started about 7:00 am. We got the boys dressed quickly (no telling how long it would last!) and outside. It melted as soon as it hit the ground, but it was a lot of fun to see the boys so excited to see snow! They had a good time running around in it and trying to catch it.

Feb. 2008 ~ Bikers & Vets

Biker Brock ~ A neighbor and co-worker of Steve's has a motorcycle that Brock just thinks is so cool! One day, Jay let him sit on it and he thought that was just the best thing ever!!
Future Vets? Our dog, Max, had to have a toenail removed and after it was healed we had to take the bandage off. The boys wanted to help, of course, and were very gentle with Max.

Jan. 2008

The boys got "boy razors" for Christmas and they think they are sooooo big now!! They saw these little kits in Target with a toy razor, shaving cream (really body wash) and shampoo. They just loved them and now shave in the bathtub or with Daddy.

One of Brock's favorite things to do is puzzles. He absolutely loves them...and he's really good at them. He can do a 100-piece puzzle for 7-year olds and he's only 4!! Check out this video of Brock talking about one of his best friends. Apparently, he has taught Brock all the good and fun things in his life. Brock ALWAYS talks about him, talks to him on his (toy) cell phone and he goes everywhere with Brock. (One of his other "best friends" is Tony Kanaan, an Indy race car driver!)

Here is Ryan talking about the Transformers. He has never watched the show, but knows all of their names because of Brock. It's pretty cute to hear him talk about Optimus Prime and Megatron!

Dec. 2007

Sometimes the smallest things create the biggest laughs. Ryan started the silliness and Brock was soon to follow! Our Christmas photo of the boys.
We put a little tree up in Brock's bedroom for the boys this year. They really enjoyed it...Ryan couldn't keep his hands off it!!! They were very proud of it and took great delight in turning the lights on and off at least 5 times a day!

Santa photo.

Santa brought Brock a "big boy bike" this year! He was so excited when he woke up and saw all the gifts! He was very patient waiting until Ryan woke up, too. He's really enjoyed his bike!

Ryan loves Elmo and when Gramma & Papa gave him this little Elmo, it instantly became his best friend and sleeping buddy.
More goofiness!
The day after Christmas, they got about 2" of snow at Gramma & Papa's house. The kids went outside and had a great time playing in it. They had a snowball fight and helped (sort of) build a grassy/hairy snowman. They had a great time!! We were so thankful that it snowed...Brock had been talking about having a snowball fight and building a snowman at Gramma & Papa's house for about 2 weeks before we went for Christmas!

Here's a video of the fun!

Here's Ryan's rendition of "Frosty the Snowman."

How anyone can be this happy when it's snowing is beyond me! :-)

Nov. 2007

"Oh....how sweet!!! They're playing together so nicely," is what I thought. So, I ran and got my camera as quickly as possible and snapped this shot. Five seconds later they were fighting over the toys!!!! Guess I got proof that's it's possible! Gotta love the hoodies!!

Quick shot of Ryan in our backyard.
At Thanksgiving, Brock decided to try on Aunt Michelle's boots. We thought the combination of the pj's that are too small, the Pull-Up sticking out and the girl's shoes was a Kodak moment!
A "Toddler" baseball game at Thanksgiving. The cold weather didn't stop us from getting outside and playing some ball with each other and our cousins!

Oct. 31 ~ Halloween

Spiderman & Superman!!!!!
Superman flying!!
Spiderman shooting his web!

We got Brock's costume several weeks before Halloween, but we didn't get Ryan's costume until the day of Halloween. The only way I could convince Ryan to be Superman was to tell him that he and Spiderman could fight the bad guys together! So, they came home from the store, changed into their costumes and began fighting the bad guys!

After they were done fighting the bad guys, I caught them together by the window. Brock was showing Ryan something in the backyard. It was so sweet and I grabbed the camera real quick and got this "big brother" moment.
The proud load of candy!!!!
