Golden Gator ~ Brock

Brock was chosen as the Golden Gator by his classmates again this year.  We're so proud of him!!  He has been chosen by his peers each year of his elementary school career.  For five years, he has been a great student and friend.  Great job, Brock!!!

His teacher read what his classmates wrote about Brock and why he was their choice for the Golden Gator.

Brock's 10th Birthday ~ Oct. 28

Brock turned 10 this year and he wanted a Minecraft party.  After much searching and Pinterest-ing, I found some pretty good ideas.  We had Creeper goodie bags, Creeper Tears (water), dirt/grass (Rice Krispie treats), wolf poop (chocolate chips), sticks (pretzel sticks), gold (Hershey bite-size bars), TNT (red licorice), Red Stone (Hot Tamales), Emeralds (green jelly beans, and Diamonds (blue jelly beans).

I found this cake topper online.

He wanted his party at a skating rink in Brenham.  He and his friends had a blast skating.  Then they brought out this huge roller skate that Brock got to sit in and drive around the rink while his favorite song was playing.

Brock and his friends!

At home on his birthday, he was very happy to get his gifts!

He's not much of a cake eater, so he wanted Gramma's Blueberry Fluff for his birthday "cake."

Sept. 29th ~ Birthday Surprise

We bought Ryan and Brock a special birthday gift.  We had them open their special gifts together on the day between their birthdays.

Ryan's 8th Birthday ~ Oct. 30

Ryan celebrated his birthday with a cool ninja ice blade from Brock and a few other gifts.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Ryan

Ryan's request, instead of a cake, was a huge ice cream cookie...and that's exactly what he got!!

Ryan wanted a ninja party on Halloween.  He gave Ninjago goodie bags to his friends.

Daddy, with help from Brock, drew a "Pin the Beard on Sensei Wu" game.

Dragon Scales & Fire Sauce (Chips & Salsa)

Cucumber Snake (Cucumbers and Cherry Tomatoes)

Snake Fangs (Bugle chips)

Fruit Swords & Dip

Lego Pips (M&M's)

Fortune Cookies

Nun-Chex Puppy Chow

Chocolate Sushi (Little Debbie cakes)

Candy Sushi (Rice Krispies, Swedish Fish and Fruit Roll-ups)

Mt. Fuji Apples

He wanted a cookie cake that he decorated himself with Lego Ninjagos.

His friends in their costumes, ready to go trick-or-treating.

September 2013

September was dominated by flag football, rain, postponed games, more flag football, more rain, etc.  It was a good season and Brock and Ryan really enjoyed playing this year.

Steve was Brock's coach.

Ryan looks good in a Cowboys uniform!

At the ready for the play.

Ryan chasing the ball down and getting the flag!

Ryan's 2nd grade class put on a music show.  Ryan was chosen to be a dancer for one of the songs.  He really got into it and danced awesome!

August 2013

San Antonio with Parrotts and Fishes

We had a great little vacation with some great friends, the Parrott family and the Fish family.  The boys loved having other boys to hang out with.  Our trip started out with only the Fishes and our family...four adults and five boys!  We began our vacation on the Riverwalk...

...and then went to the Alamo.

The boys were excited to see a real cannon used during the battle.

Jim used Ryan's scrubby head to clean the cannon.

Mama and her awesome boys!

Five boys with the Six Flags of Texas.

Sitting on a well by an enormous, beautiful oak tree.

Pretending to be Davy Crockett.

After we went to the Alamo, we headed back to the Riverwalk and had dessert at Rain Forest Cafe.  The Parrotts arrived which made our fun times even better with six adults and seven rowdy BOYS!!!

The following day we went to Natural Bridge Caverns.

There were great boy things to climb all over and lots of good climbing trees, too.

Steve, Jim, and Dave.

Brock found a praying mantis that climbed all over him (and his ear!).

Ryan let the praying mantis crawl all over him, too.

Jackson and Noah

Kelli, Carmen, and Jami

The caverns were so amazing!

After we walked the caverns, we mined for gems...

On our last day of vacation, on our way home, went to a Big Lou's Pizza...

...and ate the world's 2nd largest pizza!!

First Day of School ~ Aug. 26, 2013

Just before school started, we took our annual trip to the roller skating rink.  Always such a good time with my boys!
