Cameron Park Zoo ~ April 21

We went with Brock's class to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco for a field trip.  I've said it before and I'll say it again:  this is a great zoo for kids!!  We had a really good time with him and the other 5 boys in his class.  Ryan had a good time hanging with the big boys!

Easter ~ April 24

We celebrated Easter with some of the O'Neal's this year.  Steve's mom and dad, aunt and uncle & cousin and his girlfriend all came to celebrate with us.

Oil Ranch ~ April 30

Steve's company picnic was at the Oil Ranch (north of Houston).  We always have a good time there because there is so much for the kids to do.  These swings were made out of old tires and cut to look like a horse.

Riding the Indian Swings.

Pole climbing.

A train ride.

Horseback riding.

Paint ball shooting.
They also had a cow that they milked.  It was quite the experience for both of the boys and they did actually get some milk!  They had a rope swing in a barn onto a pile of hay, a miniature golf course, a petting zoo and lots of other activities.  It was a good day for the O'Neal's!

Ryan's Marlin Baseball

This was Ryan's first year to play T-ball.  He seemed to like it, but likes flag football and basketball better.

Ryan's team.  He's #8

Can you tell what his favorite position is from the next several pictures?

Favorite position?  Squatting down or goofing off!

Ryan in the catcher gear.  I'm not sure those shin guards are going to protect him much!

A few videos of him.

Brock's Muckdog Baseball

Brock played machine-pitch baseball this year for the Muckdogs.  He did really well, although I think it is his least favorite sport.  It's a little too slow paced for him.

Brock as catcher.

A few videos of him....

March 2011

Brock's school mascot is the Gator.  They give away Golden Gator awards for kids who have been good in school.  Brock received the Golden Gator on March 3!  Good job, Brock...We're proud of you!

Count Brockula!

Bwa-ha-ha-ha!!!  [sinister laugh, as he smiles]

Brock and Ryan put on a dance show for Steve and I.  It is one of the funniest, cutest things I've ever seen!  They crack me up!

The after-dance victory pose!

Ryan shooting some hoops on the new basketball goal!

Brock showing his shooting skills.

Ryan won this teddy bear back in October and absolutely loves it.  He [trys] to take it everywhere.  On this car trip, he had to buckle his teddy bear in so he would be safe, too.  :-)

A Conversation With Brock

Tonight while I was laying with Brock in bed, he told me that he played "Tigers" on the playground with a girl today.  Here is our conversation:

Brock:  I played "Tigers" with _______ today.
Me:  Oh yeah?  How do you play "Tigers"?
Brock:  We ran around and then we mated.
Me:  Oh, really?  How do you mate?
Brock:  I don't know...we just mated.
Me:  But how do you mate?
Brock:  We sat beside each other.....................and then we held hands.
Me:  Oh, o.k.  Do you know what mating is?
Brock:  It's like when you have a wedding or something.
Me:  No, that's dating.  Mating is when animals have babies.
Brock:  [No response.  Sat there very quietly trying to process the information.]

I LOVE MY KIDS!!!!!  WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT GOD HAS GIVEN US!!  I LOVE YOU, BROCK!!
